Walis tambo is a traditional Filipino soft broom used mainly for sweeping indoor floors and smooth outdoor surfaces like patios or concrete. It is one of the most common household cleaning tools in the Philippines.
It is typically made from the dried flowering stalks of tiger grass (also called broom grass), which are bundled tightly and attached to a bamboo or wooden handle. The soft fibers make it effective at collecting dust, dirt, and fine debris without scratching surfaces.
A walis tambo is different from a walis tingting:

Walis tingting – stiff broom made from coconut leaf midribs, better for sweeping leaves and debris outdoors.
These brooms are often handmade by local artisans and are an important cottage industry in several Philippine provinces.
